Is It Worth Paying For Traffic To Your Website?

One of the principal elements for success on the web today is generating website traffic, but as any experienced online marketer will tell you, this is something that’s easier said than done. If you've been doing any research on how to produce traffic, you’ve probably come across a huge variety of different tips, tricks and strategies to accomplish this.

One of the most popular means of increasing traffic to your site, is through the various search engines utilizing proper SEO methods. Other marketers will choose to take the easy way out, and throw away their hard-earned money on purchasing targeted website traffic for their websites, blogs etc. It’s dangerous to buy traffic, and that’s what I’m going to talk about in this article.

Numerous companies that sell website traffic packages to internet marketers, will NOT provide them with the kind of quality traffic they paid for. In fact, these companies often utilize different types of automated software (or bots) to create hits to your website. So while you’re sitting back and watching your hit counter supposedly “turn like a top” or “explode”, the fact is nothing more is happening than a computer producing these fake visits. You’ll soon realize the money you spent on buying this traffic (if you can call it that) is completely and totally wasted, and there's very little chance that you’ll produce any commissions from it.

It’s unfortunate that many internet marketers continue to purchase from these dishonest companies, and as a result, they’re popping up all over the place selling their worthless traffic. To help you avoid these scam artists, I’ve compiled some excellent information about what you need to know, and what you need to do, to prevent you from becoming a victim of false advertising.

First of all, you should carefully scrutinize the website of the particular company. If the website looks “shoddy” or “heavily cluttered” like it’s been put together by some kid, you might want to move on. You could also come across a company that has a professional looking website with a good design. In this case, you might want to check if there are any spelling and/or grammatical mistakes in the content of their site. A website which has spelling or grammatical errors may not necessarily be a scam, but keep your eyes and ears open and realize something may not be quite right.

A legitimate business will allow you to contact them. If a particular company doesn’t have a way for you to contact them, this could very well be a scam. If the company does have a contact page, I’d strongly recommend that you touch base with them BEFORE you give them any money.

As for me, I’d avoid these companies completely because many of them are just out-and-out rip-offs. If you're looking to spend your money on purchasing hits to your website, one of the best ways to do this is by utilizing article marketing. The reason you might want to consider article marketing, is because it doesn’t cost you anything monetarily, and the traffic you'll be getting will be targeted to the product and service you're marketing. This translates to your having a better chance of producing sales and leads  than with any other program that sells “questionable” website traffic packages.
